MONTICELLO — Police arrested a 25-year-old man on Thursday who allegedly stole tools from a home under renovation in the Village of Monticello.
Monticello Police said in a news release Saturday that Nigdrew Reynolds, of Monticello, broke into the home about 4 a.m. on Aug. 26 and took various tools valued at $1,100.
Reynolds was caught committing the burglary by the home’s surveillance system, according to the release.
Police spotted Reynolds on High Street on Thursday and arrested him. According to the release, Reynolds struggled with officers during his arrest and tried to kick out the rear windows of a patrol vehicle.
Reynolds was charged with third-degree burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny, both felonies. He was arraigned by Monticello Village Justice Leo Glass. He is being held in the Sullivan County Jail in place of $25,000 bail or $50,000 bond.
